PLCSIM V12 cannot open project

Clavilla Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	Hi forum I am trying to open a project in PLCSIM V12 - s7-1200 project created in STEP7 V11. But during the opening it stops and says I need to install STEP7 basic V11 Update 2 and WINCC basic V11 Update 2. When opening the list of installed components I can see, that I have Pro versions SP2 Update 5. And I ofcourse also have STEP7 V12 installed. See attachment. It can't be that it only works for basic... Any ideas as to why this problem occurs? Regards Christian Holt Ok... I tried to open the project in STEP7 V12 and save a copy, which I then opended in PLCSIM V12. Now it wants update 3 instead... Attachment installedsoftware.jpg (196 Downloads)

If you use TIA Portal professional v12, you can use a S7-1500 to simulate blocks. See also this thread: /tf/WW/en/Posts/90151 In future it will (hopefully) be possible. Best regards, Wizard

Clavilla Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	Ok, thank you. I am trying to get the simulator working with a s7-1500, but I still have some trouble opening the project. It still says programs are missing; this time V12. So I am currently reinstalling PLCSIM.

Any help would be appreciated. What is the problem? There have been multiple problems within the same thread. S7-1200 does not currently work in PLCSIM. If you open S7-1200 project in V12 Pro, and also create a similar hardware configuration for s7-1500, you can copy most blocks/tags/watch tables from s7-1200 project to s7-1500 and then simulate the s7-1500 project. If this does not work, something is wrong with portal pro install.
