Yusuf_TUNÇ Posts: 64 Rating: (2)	Hi friends, I need your little help about Modbus address. We have a project which works with Modbus RTU connection. I know how to configure modbus setting and addressing but this time Modbus list which campany gave us came to me a bit strange. Please, Can you take a look at the picture if you have two minutes for free? I could not understand and figure out how I do configure maps:-( The picture is attached the topic. Thank you. Otherwise, 0. 40002:Number of probes known by the system. 40003:Number of probes having reached their rate alarm threshold. 40004:Number of probes having reached their dose alert threshold. 40005:Number of probes having reached their dose alarm threshold. 40006:Number of disconnected or offlines probes (after here it is complcating) and than for every n will add 1 to the address first for n=1 41100:32 probe identifier (serial number) (here I am not sure there is written 32 register, what does it means?) 41110:0 = Virtual ; 1 = Physical probe 41111:Integer representation of the rounded µRem/h value, if available. Otherwise 0xFFFF. 41112:Integer representation of the rounded µRem value, if available. Otherwise 0xFFFF. 41113:1 if alarm is reached. Otherwise, 0. 41115:1 if alert is reached. Otherwise, 0. 41116:1 if alert is reached. Otherwise, 0. 41117:1 if alarm is reached. Otherwise, 0. 41118:1 if the probe is online. Otherwise, 0. for n=2 42100: 42110 ... That's what I understand. .

Kaulquappe Posts: 3093 Rating: (324)	Hello Yusuf, the Excel file you attached refers to the addressing of the data link layer. The system information starts with holding register 1000. The data for probe 0 start with holding register 1100. The data for probe 1 start with holding register 1140. Regards, Kaulquappe

Kaulquappe Posts: 3093 Rating: (324)	Hello Yusuf, the Modbus specification states: holding registers are read with function code 3 and the register addresses are from 0 to 65535. This are the values which are transferred on the line - it belongs to the data link layer. The old fashioned way of addressing is via the application layer. Address 40001 of the application layer implies: function code 3, which means holding register and offset 0 - this is the address transferred on the line. Regards, Kaulquappe
