PM240 Brake Resistor Selection

Hello,

I am an instrumentation tech for a local water treatment plant.  We have a couple 20 hp blowers that I would like to prevent a 10 minute coast to stop time, with a brake resistor.  We use the Sinamics Power Module PM240 Model# 6SL3224-0BE31-5UA0

I want to make sure I purchase the correct parts. 

Would the correct Brake Resistor be:  6SE6400-4BD21-2DA0

Do I need this Brake Relay 6SL3252-0BB00-0AA0?

I think the frame size is FSD, if this matters.

I have used brake resistors before, but am not familiar with Siemens Sinamics stuff.

Anything you guys can offer would be so great.

Braking resistors are used to prevent rise in DC bus voltage so that power semiconductor devices & other components are protected & motor could be stoped in much faster time than its coast to stop time. So for your above power module, the selected braking resistor module is compatible but you need to set ramp down time practiclaly as it depends on load intertia.

Brake relay 6SL3252-0BB00-0AA0 which you are talking about, is used to control/connect motor holding brake. These motor holding brake is external brake which is used to hold motor shaft & is applied when drive pulses are disable.
