I got two profinet sub-networks connected with a PN/PN coupler .

The first one has as a controller an S7-300 CPU(X1-coupler interface) and the second one has as a controller a S7-1500 CPU(x2-coupler interface) .

The S7-300 CPU is configured with Step7 v5.5

The S7-1500 CPU is configured with TIA Portal V13.0 

The data that I need to send/receive are real numbers(4 bytes) and non-safety .

What I don't know  is which are software functions that allow me to send/receive data to/from S7-300 in TIA Portal ? Has Siemens developed this kind of functions for TIA Portal ?

Can I use the same functions to transfer data between CPU's when they are connected through a PN-PN coupler?

Sorry.. you are right. You want a de-coupled network not a coupled network. I was rather thinking of using the Coupler as a hub.

Do you have the hardware to work with it?

The PN-PN coupler is configured in software as if two devices (X1 and X2). My assumption is that you can configure X1 is Step7 5.x and the X2 in Step7 V1x. It is however important (guess) that the device number  is the same (for X1 and X2 parts of the Coupler). Next insure that the IO configuration of the X1 side and X2 side is "mirror" of each other.

I hope that you will receive more professional help from someone that can be of more help. Else consider logging a formal request..

for handling the coupler- communication you need to configurate, like William said, the PN/PN coupler separately in each of the two projects.

The chapter 4 from the mentioned manual provides handy information about the hardware configuration.

Which is fine ,except that I'm having issues in knowing which logic should I use in order to send data located into a DB block to the partner CPU .

The partner CPU has the attached hardware configuration.

So I guess my question is - is it possible to send DB data (let's say DB4 ) to the IN128 bytes module as it is shown attached capture?

hi aney,

it should work like you described. You don´t need special blocks for a coupler. It doesn´t matter what kind of PLC is on the other side, because you are only communicating with the coupler. The coupler takes the outputs of the one side(X1) to the input of the other side(X2) and vice versa. 

for copying your DB, just use the Blockmove-function(BLKMOV) with INPUT(e.g.): DB4.DBX0.0 Byte 50 for the first 50 Bytes in your DB and OUTPUT: P#Q200.0 Byte 50
