In this DB, i have a backup of my pointer(in DW type) and datas in format UDT (my UDT has 2 datas in byte type). The DB contains 200 UDTs and the backup. I would like to use a pointer to adress the data1, data2... In the fuction where I use call the DB, I have a temporary variable. I would like to set his variable to the first UDT data (at the adress 10.0). Can I use p#db500.dbx10.0 to set the pointer? Best regards, Mi-k-l

APOINTER data type is 6 bytes long and as such can't be loaded at once like this: L p#DB500.DBX10.0 T my_pointer It (a POINTER) can be used as input parameter and then it can be assigned in the following way: CALL FC 1 IN0:=P#DB500.DBX 10.0 //IN0 of type POINTER In this case a compiler taks care of correct passing data. Otherstory is accessing data indirectly. A POINTER data type is not suitable for this. To achieve what I think you are after see the code below: OPN DB 500 //you have to open DB for access L P#DBX 10.0 //load address constant T MD 0 //store it somewhere L DBB [MD 0] //use indirect access to DB byte

Again I want to compare my current address of my variable with a fixed address. I put the fixed address in a MD variable. Finally, I compare MD0 to MDx. If the compare is equal or superior, a set MD0 to the initial address. The problem is: it doesn't work!!! Michael
