Position control with G120

Encoder is connected to ET200SP Count 24 card. A sensor is connected to di of the countercard, meant for homing. Can we use a TO positioning object in this configuration? Can we use the DI of the counter card as a measuring input? What if the encoder only provided 6 ppr and 1 mm of the end effector is 22.8 mm, will positioning be possible?

But resolution of the encoder should be 5-6 times higher than the required position accuracy. G120 is not isochronous, so you get worse control behavior.
