power supply logo setup

hello ,

for my project i use a logo8 base module and 2 DM16 24R expansion modules.

how much power should my powersupply be?

bm running 165 mA and the input current for the DM16 is 2 mA at "1". according the data sheets

but is that current for each input ?

DM 16 relays

the relays will be used for switching another relays, from Finder, so low current

use for lighting in a building

If the LOGO! BM and the DMs switch 230V loads, then can you use 24 VDC power supply with 1,5 A without problems for the power supply of the BM and the DMs.

Input currents are negligible, use of external relais on the internal relais output load is indeed recommend. That way the internal relais contacts of the BM have no risk of burning on load problems (inrush or overload currents). That safes your BM is my experience.

Tip:
Secure the BM, DM power connections and the input circuit in the cabinet by a fuse (F1A).
When the input circuit is also in the field, then its own fuse is recommend.
Secure the load driving relais circuit by an other fuse (T#A, for its an induction load), this allows testing the BM circuit i/o without load switching. When powering both circuits from the same supply, you can calculate that extra load.

The load has of coarse its own power security.

fuses will be used for safety,  that is clear,

so calculating currents:

165 mA for the BM

8 x 2 dm16's x 2 mA is 32 mA

total 197 mA .

but in this link logo! dm16 24r current is 30 ..115 mA:

that is much higher.

Check the specs. Look at I24V dc / ac power consumption at te units, not the input current.

You.need to power all the units, only the databus is internal connected.
