Power supply on S7-300 Controller

Manish_Soni Posts: 41 Rating: (0)	Hi Friends, Could any one please explain the different LED on the controller. Whta is the meaning of SF, BF1, and BF2 led. Actually i wanted to know if IO device will support power suply and we have set Power supply monitoring on from STEP7. If any one power supply will go down , the IO device sends the alarm notififcation to controller, We should be able to see the alarm on controller. Appreciate if you can explain , which LED should be on Controller when any alarm will be send by IO device for eg. temperature high from set thresold, powersupply down etc.... One more doubt was there,once we are doing some changein IO device from STEP 7, we need to download the Project to contorller, during this time CPU will stop and again start. Just wanted to check if that is the right behaviour. Really Appreciate help here. Thanksm, Manish

For IO device related issues, the corresponding BFx will glow and you can refer the corresponding OB.

Just wanted to check if that is the right behaviour. If you download the hardware to CPU will go to stop and start again, if you download the program and the sequence of the blocks downloaded is ok it will keep running. Usually you get a warning if it is o.k. to stop/start the CPU when downloading the hardware. Regards, Marcjan

My cpu is having BF1 and BF2 leds. But one of power suplly is getting down /or temperature is getting increased in my switch(io device here), i am observing alarm notifiation from switch to controller in wireshark packet communication as we asll able to verfiy alarm from switch cli. But phsically not able to see any led is on controller. Is this issue is related with switch software or anything i need to do from controller side. If i am amking both power supply down for switch i. e no io device is connected to controller , in this case SF led is displaying red. Please share your thoughts. Thanks, Manish.

Hello Manish, Check the below URLs for basics on configuring the CPU and the IO-device * Configuring the PROFINET interface in a S7-300 PN CPU * Configuring an ET 200S as PROFINET IO device BF1 and BF2 denotes that both the configured MPI/DP and PROFINET networks are having problem. If you have configured the S7-300 PN CPU with an IO-device, then you must have that IO-device working fine. Only then the "Bus Fault" will not glow. What are the other devices you connect in MPI/DP network?
