We are using a WinCC V7.0  SP Server (Windows Server 2003 R2) for S7-fault tolerant system for 2 nos of 414-5H CPU. The Server PC has two Siemens network cards CP1613 an S7 red connect for switch over. There are no problem in this system. But we want to prepare a spare server using CP1613 card for S7- fault tolerance system.

So my question is

1. Can it possible to One to one replacement if failure the existing server?
2. What is the procedure to made a new server for using (Windows Server 2003 R2) and fault tolerance system CP1613 card?

I would say if the standby Station is configured exactly as the one you use for Server then It should work if you do an exchange of the Hardware. Of course you should try almost once a year also to check if your Cold Standby Hardware still works.

I could not tell you 100% but if you use a cold standby system with identical Hardare and the same Image or Confoguration (Ip Adress, Devicename and so on ) then it should work.

But of couse you cannot use both of them at the same time.
