I'm using SICK ENCODER (ATM60-A1A0-K19 SSI ENCODER), connected to TM PosInput SSI card (6ES7-138-6BA00-OBA0). When using TM PosInput SSI card (from siemens manuals attached you can see that if bit 0 get enabled on byte 8, it will load value to the encoder (bytes 0…3 loaded value), but every time when I do this bit 2 from byte 12 get active (Error when loading via control interface). Do you have any suggestions on what to do regardings this preset value? P.S. My encoder feedback is perfectly fine (I receive pulses and everything), but I can't preset value. Best regards, ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |

Haven't used TM position module before but I, have been using TM counter module for speed measurement for 6 years. First of all I would make sure everything is wired according to your needs, and I would usually check whether lights on module are blinking according to my frequency. What are you using Simatic S7 classis or Tia. In the case you are using Simatic you need to understand manual a little bit more and directly set mode of work and read values by applying corresponding values to your module from program, but in the case you are using Tia, under technology objects you can parameterized your module even while you are online, you have option "commissioning" where you can change settings and monitor your module work. |

That value is valid for incremental or pulse encoders not absolute encodes. Read between parenthesis. Absolute encoders' count value is absolute. Having said that there are modules that allow configuration of position offset but no from Siemens. |
