Pressure transmitter or pressure switch

pauldd Posts: 1 Rating: (0)	I want to use a 12 vdc logo, to monitor pressure, not sure which way to go. Should I use a pressure transmitter or can I use a pressure switch with unit. It appears there are a very limited number of pressure transmitters that will work with a stock 12 vdc logo using a 0-10vdc output, most use 16vdc and higher for power. The logo will not accept a 4-20ma input without an additional card I beleive. Any help would be much appreciated. Let me add I have no experience with a Logo, have not made a purchase of one as yet.

Mohanna Experienced Member Joined: 10/14/2011 Last visit: 3/27/2024 Posts: 38 Rating: (1)	Hi pauldd I didn't work in Logo PLC but in general if you want to get a voltage renge ansted of MA , so you can use a a resestance , so if I have a presuure transmitter 4-20 MA , we can pass this current throgh a resestance 500 OHM for that 4 MA........* 500 .......>........ 2V 20MA.......*500...........>.......10V so you can rerange the chanal signal o be from 2 to 10V I hope this will help

If you have a DC logo (12/24...) logo, then the LOGO must work on 12 or 24 VDC Your sensor must have an output of 0 - 10 V or 2 - 10 Volt. You can also use sensors with a 4 (0) - 20 mA output. To use them with your LOGO u have to place a very simple resistor of 500 Oms between the analog input and Massa = - Power. So your 4- 20 mA signal becomes a 2-10 Volt signal, that u directly can use in your programm. U can use a analog input as many if you wishes in the programm. You can also buy extension units that you click right to the LOGO! There are extension units for 0-10V and 4-20 mA The extensionunits are always powerd bij 24VDC.
