Printing from VB

Hi,

I'm a first time user to winCC but i do havereasonable programming experience. Uptill now i was able to figure out how things work.

There's only one thing that realy bugs me though, and that's the incapabillity to print from VB. I even have no clue why such an important action is limited to C.

So i have written a long and complex data collector, filter and builder just to find out that i can't print the data at the end.

My question is: is there a way to call the printjob routine from VB? Maybe making a reference to a DLL and calling it from there? If yes wich DLL object or other thing would that be? Or can i maybe somehow activate a C-script i made myself?


For example i cancreate a invisible button object on the active screen, put an C script on the onclick event. But then i need to trigger the event somehow without the operator sittingbehind the screenhaving to do this
(With this i meant a "object created in Runtime and distructed in Runtime")

Hi there again, my project is nearing it's completion and all works well. Now i am facing my last obstacle. Due to performance issues and the way tag logging and alarm logging works in winCC we decided to write our own logging script around it wich is proving to work. Basicly every product get's it's own file with a log in it in CSV format.

The company wich we are building this for is a medical company so datasecurity is a issue. At the moment the created files by the script are somewhat protected by winCC itselfby making the operator unable to exit runtime. So this would already be adequate agains tampering with log files. Eventhough stillthey would like to see the files wich are created to be secured in some form or another.

I already hide them and make them read only but anyone with a sense for windows would be able to find and change them. (if they manage to shutdown runtime somehow). So i wondered if there is a good way of making them atleast write protected? Does anyone have experiance with this?

Two day's from project completion, and all is fine but 2 issues one of which is deadly atm.

I have a global script running in vbathat monitors a GetData tag. When set it then activates a script that will log and convert about 6 times and dates per product and a shitload ofstatus bitswich is at the last position of the machine.

The script basicly reads the times and statuses from the PLC. The script seems to work just fine but at closer examination of the CSV file that is put out i noticed that sometimes two products have exactly the same time. This is ofcourse impossible since there schould be atleast a360 second gap between one product and the other.

Unfortunatly the place where identical times occure is not always at the same place and usually the first product read is fine and script execution is a bit slow but i understand whythat problem is there from the other threads and is something i can live with.

Butafter that, the tags are suddenly not accuratly read and all hell breaks loose on the report. For the company it is absolutely critical that that data is 10000% accurate. We croschecked the data in the PLC with the conclusion that the PLC is accurate at all times. All tags used have the right address i tripple checked that. The script is also correct everything is put out just fine everytime we test it. It seems that rappid successions of reading tags makes the data corrupt.

Should i use a timer between every tag.read action or should i read the tags twice to make sure they are updated correctly? Can i give priority to the tags somehow so they update correctly?
