Hello "The Rat" Please check if DB1 is used in your 155 CPU. If so it will contain an address list for all DI & DQ's and you will have to add the address of your new DI card to it (use the "DB Screen" form to open it in Step 5). Please check too/let us knowwhat address you intend to use for your new DI. If you want to be able to address the DI's as bits in your logic you'll need to stay below input byte 128 (S5 Processends with Input Byte 127, if you go above this you'll need to do peripheral access, e.g. "L PW xyz") If you do NOThave a DB1 please give us more info the Interface module in use (you said its a remote rack and a serial link is used, so my guess is an IM308A/318 pair, but please check and ideally give us part number too). I hope this helps |

Hello again good old 318A/308A combination (and I thought I could leave my little bit of remaining knowledge of these in the last millenium). Anyway, pleasecheck/verifyif you followed the correct power up procedure after you installed the new DI card. Put simple, if you change the I/O configuration of your remote rack, you will need to power up the remote rackbefore you power up the central rack (or at least together with it) to initialise the IM's correctly and be able to address the new I/O's. Have a look at chapter 3 of the IM318 and 308manuals (links to them are are below in case you don't have these)for more on this: 318-3UA11 Central Controller Interface Module 308-3UA12 Expansion Unit Interface Module I really hope this helps (as I don't have any other "obvious" ideas at this stage) and good luck. |
