problem after load eprom

JALVIAR Experienced Member Joined: 11/13/2008 Last visit: 9/3/2024 Posts: 55 Rating: (0)	i make a modification in simatic S5-115 CPU 942B i write a eprom of 16k when start the eprom load the program to the PLC but the PLC dont start, after load the file with the PG and it is possible start the application, i compare the eprom with the file and the program is the same. The program of the eprom and the program of the file is the same, if i load the program with eprom i cant start and if i load a program with the file is possible start what is a problem

S5 EPROMs support three different types of programming depending on the EPROM Type / CPU Type. ( Pl See Attachment ) Byte - Typically Used for S5-100U / 95U / 115U Word - Typically Used for S5-135U CPUs ( STEP5 Default ) Word/Block - Typically used for S5-155U Since you have a S5-115U ( CPU 942B ) - You need to Select "Byte" mode. Otherwise your CPU will not be able to read the EPROM . I feel that you may have programmed the EPROM in the STEP5 Default Mode : "WORD" Please check.
