Hello Gents, 

I have a problem with communication between the s71200 and the basic panel ktp700 

I read most of the relevant topics in this forum that related to the similar issues 

but unlucky I tried many of the offered solutions with no good results so far 

the PLC and the HMI been used in some other machine with the v15 version 

I managed to update their firmware successfully and also updated the Images for the HMI 

now all up to date with V17

I can connect to both of them separately with no problem. but on the HMI side I see the error 190011

I suspect that it comes from the protection&security options in the PLC properties 

also I found out that in the new project it has more stuff in that section, like "security settings wizard" 

which I never met in previous projects, I compered the other projects and it doesnt have those extra stuff. I always kept the plc with no protection level. now  I found that i had included the the "device certificate" which i never used it. so I removed it, so from that point the compilation gives me an error that I need to have such certificate :

once I add certificate, it completing the compilation with no errors 

but still having the problem with HMI connection

please help me to figure out the problem

Have you loaded the hardware properly? Only when the PLC name is highlighted in the project tree will you be able to load the hardware. The hardware download will place the PLC in STOP mode. There is a "load and reset" function in the ONLINE menu as alternative.

Another idea is to downgrade the PLC firmware version in the project. Select V4.4 instead of V4.5 in the project -- but leave the actual firmware of the physical PLC as it is. The problem is unrelated to the security settings if the KTP700 still fails to communicate with the PLC.

The follow up to that to regenerate the link between PLC and HMI in the project.

I downgraded the PLC to 4.4, this is the only solution that works 

now they communicating. The problem is that KTP700 somehow refuses to receive the certification from the plc. so from v4.5 its necessary but  lower versions it can work without certification

Thanks for the feedback. It is a unexpected situation that you have. 

If you have the patience, you can talk to the Siemens support team. They may suggest that you upgrade the firmware in the PLC. Or perhaps the version of the HMI. My perspective is to get the project done with the lower firmware version in your project as you have it now.

yesterday I opened the case with Siemens hotline, the person communicated with my only by emails 

I also provided him the backup project and informed him that I updated the PLC and the HMI to the newest firmware version. but he couldn't give me the practical solution that I didnt try before 

the clue that you mentioned to downgrade the PLC firmware to lower revision this what helped in my case
