Marcopolo Posts: 20 Rating: (0)	Hi dear users, I have a problem in my profibus,I have added a new station with ET200U to my profibus,but it dosen't work and I have bus fault on my IM308. I have attached my configuration that configured by COM PROFIBUS V 5.1 I need your help thanks alot Attachment last.zip (72 Downloads)

fritz Diamond Expert Joined: 10/7/2005 Last visit: 6/3/2023 Posts: 2966 Rating: (1025)	Hello Marcopolo I can't find anything obvious wrong in your COMPB config and suggest you check/try the following: 1.) What is the part number of your IM318? A 6ES5 318-8MB11 can NOT be used anymore and you'll need either an -8MB12or -8MB13(see also HERE for more) 2.) Cabling and Plug (perhaps a bad connection in the plug, can you try to swap Plugs around with a working DP Slave?). 3.) Is the physical configuration of your ET200U the same as your COMPB config (e.g. check your IM part number andmake sure it is in fact a 6ES5 318-8MB1x, check thatyou have onlyone 8DI followed byone 8DQ card in it). 4.) What CPU is in your S5 anddo you perhaps a DB1 with an I/O list in it?If so, you'll need to add the new I/O addresses to it and Cold restart your CPU (see the CPUmanual for more on this). 5.) You used Adress 0 for the Input and Output Byte, verify that this is NOT used elsewhere in the central or any expansion racks rack and/or try a different free address range for your DI and DQ card. That's all I can think of for now, I hope this helps and please let us know what you find.

Late Platinum Expert Joined: 1/7/2006 Last visit: 2/16/2023 Posts: 2705 Rating: (311)	Hi Marcopolo, The new Profibus connectors have a In and a Out for the Profibus cable, when the resistance is on the cable won't be switched further. The cable on top is the one that is going In and the other is going Out. The dipswitches of the IM 318 of the ET 200U have to be in the right position for the address and also for the type of PROFIBUS.

ILYAZ Posts: 27 Rating: (1)	Dear Marcopolo, I dont know your problem solved or not , But as a tip , i want to share my knowledge, What is the size of your memory card for IM308? ,some times ComProfibus is unable to write the configuration on the memory card , but still says the "Memory card loaded successfully" etc. So after loading configuration , please read it back /import again , and see if your newly added ET200U is in the imported configuration. if your newlyadded nodeis not configuredand youturn off the resistance on the last node ,your IM308 will give you fault. You comprofibus should be minimum SP2+Hotfix 2. I wish your problem is solved Best Regards,
