problem in siemens s5 100 cpu 102

v3nom Advanced Member Joined: 11/25/2009 Last visit: 3/19/2023 Posts: 33 Rating: (0)	I have a s5 100 cpu 102 having part number 6ES5 102-8MA02, whenever i startup the CPU the cpu is in stop mode even the switch position is RUN mode , and when active the 'cpu start' from the software; the run mode led for a second then immadiatley return to stop mode. The cpu have no i/o modules, also have no EPROM. Can anyone tell me is this necessary to operate the cpu is RUN Mode having EPROM also is it necessary to have I/O module attached with it. fritz Diamond Expert Joined: 10/7/2005 Last visit: 5/29/2023 Posts: 2965 Rating: (1025)	Hello v3nom you do not need an EPROM, but you MUST have at least one I/O module connected to your 100U CPU and the link below will tell you more on this: S5-100U without bus module / Error message -PEU- (powerfall in expansion unit) in the ISTACK I hope this helps
