Allwin Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	Dear All, I have an issue witht the Siemens system and hope experts can help me out. I use S7- 317-F CPU with 42 Profibus DP nodes and the installation is all done as per the standards with max. 18 nodes in one segments and repeaters are used as per the requirements. Of the 42 nodes, 7 nodes are IM-151 HF, 4 Load cells, 4 ABB robotic nodes, 2 HMI MP377, & rest all SEW movimots. Now when the system starts, IM modules nodes fluctuate. In a day almost 15 times it fluctuates. Give me some solution at the earliest please. With Regards, Allwin Roosevelt.

Allwin Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	We have checked that too.. Every IM module has its own Power Supply and all are spread acroos the field. I also have a doubt. If i have grounded profibus network, is it require to ground my repeater too with connecting the PE & M?? If a repeater malfunctions will there be a same kind of reflections in the system?? Is the profibus cable seperated from power cables (especially inverter operated motor cables) ? If yes - check all profibus connectors and have a look that there is no wire from the shield giving contact to a signal wire. Check also that there is good contact at the signal wires to the contacts of the connector. If there are 'fast connect' connectors used I made the expierience that problems like yours could occur if the connector is not mounted correctly. As per my expierence it is important to push down the "holder of wires" firmly before tighten the screw of the connector. Regards....

Allwin Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	Hi Thanks mark. But the mentioned points are well checked. Cables are seperated, all the connectors are checked and installed as provided in the installation guide. Even after checking all these, there is a random drop of the nodes which create much damage.

With that amount off nodes, the only good option is use a profibus analyser to measure/monitor the whole network. Not a cheap option, but maybe you can hire one. Regards, Marcjan

Allwin Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	Hello Marc.. My concern in this, if my profibus loop has the problem my entire network should get affected. In my case only the Siemens IM 151 HF gets the drop. This confuses me. So thought any siemens personal could help me out.
