Problem installating TIA PORTAL V12 - VMWare

I tried to install the TIA PORTAL V12 in a VMWare VM WIN7 UltimateSP1 64 updated Yesterday with "Windows Update" but the Siemens setup remained active for more than three hours at about 70% (the application respond to commands but seems that simply not continue normal setup). Analyzing the Windows active process I see the "SQLStarter.exe" active for more than 2 hours. I killed the "SQLStarter.exe" process and Siemens setup has continued and then finished giving an error in the final report. Do you have any idea? I would notlike to install software on a physical machine but on a VM as I always did for earlier versions of STEP 7, WinCC, WinCCflexible and TIA Portal V11. PS I have not tried to install WinCC Professional V12 but I would like to install it after Step7 Thank for any reply!

WinCC and WinCC Professional could not be installed in the same PC (also for different versions of WinCC Pro). 2 - Try ti install the software in a "lean" virtual machine, just with XP SP3.

Another problem will be the installation of WinCC Professional (TIA Portal) in the same machine. Best Regards

exonym Posts: 1 Rating: (0)	Yeah man, you saved my life!!! I had same user and computer name. That was the problem. Waited over 18 hours to install! Saw always the process SQLSTARTER.EXE working in task manager. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
