Problem opening project in WinCC Flexible 2008

Hi. Im having a problem to open a project in Wincc flex 2008 sp2 (OP77A)

This seems to be a common problem. When im opening the project i get the message " the project was created with an incompatible or beta versin of WinCC flexible, it was last opened with V 1.4.0.0 (1.16.16) Open the project with a valid WinCC felxible version"

There´s a few threads about this problem and probably the fix is to install Sp3 to sort it out, but when I start Step 7 to take a look at the plc program  you can also se the connection with the panel (OP77A) and if i click on object properties for hmi station there one row "device" OP 77A (1.8.3.0. 2008 SP2)"

So shouldn´t SP2 be enough? I have even tried the latest updates for SP2 but it doesn´t help.

the object properties only say with which FW the Object is created, but not with which Engineering version.

It looks that the project was opened and migrated with a WinCCflexible 2008 SP3 Eingineering SW , from this point you must use WinCCflexible SP3 to open the project.

Can you tell us if this project originally was created using Protool (OP7) and then migrated to WinCC flexible (OP77A)?

If yes, then the cause of this problem is because you have created the project using WinCC fle3xible 2008 SP2 "which is mentioned in the device connection in Step7 program". And then may be somebody edited the project using SP3.

To Avoid installation of SP3, You can ask anybody who have WinCC flexible SP3 to open the project and then do the following steps:

Go to Project / Save as Version and then select WinCC flexible 2008 SP2.

Then he can give you the saved project and then you can open using SP2

I know that lot of users prefer to use SP2 than SP3 because you can open and migrate protool project with SP2 and this feature is not available in SP3.

If all of the above is not your case, then try to do one of the following steps:

1. Reset the WinCC flexible to the original status of the last installation.
   OR
2. Run Clean Up support tool. You can download it for free from this link.

The original plc and panel was S5 and a Op5, 2012 we changed it to S7 and a Op77a, or Another Company did. And i Think they only did some kind of migration because before the change if you pressed the "esc" button you came back to main screen but now you only get previous screen, not so friendly. so my plan is to only rebind the key :)  

And in step 7 the panel is stated as "OP7"

So is there someone kind person with SP3 that want to convert my file or should i order it from siemens or have someone Sp3 for download?

But is it possible to open the file and resave it as an Sp2 with the trial version?
