PROBLEM USING CM 1242-5 Profibus Slave

Hello everyone,

Here below I attach my problem. 

On this application I using below:

1. S7-1200(1214C) 
2. CM1242-5 Profibus DP Slave
3. KTP 700 Basic DP

So, Please any body who have experience similarity to this application. I m a newbie for profibus DP application. I usually using profinet is easier than profibus DP.

I do appreciated thanks for your help ti fixt my problem.

May I make a suggestion: as a test, replace the CM 1242-5 DP slave in your project by a CM 1243-5 DP master module. See if the connection is established with your HMI in your hardware configuration..

When using Profibus-DP between a PLC and a Siemens HMI, both mut be masters. The PLC is a master class 1 (it holds a configuration of its slaves and polls them cyclically), whereas the OP is a Master class 2 (it does not hold a list of slaves, it requests the values it needs acyclically.

To use a DP slave with the operator panel, the panel must act as a Master Class 1. This was possible in older versions of WinCC Classic (I believe up to v5.2) with a Profibus-DP channel. But no longer, with the newer versions of WinCC.

I have no Siemens document giving confirmatioon of this, except this recent discussion:
