Problem when converting a Wincc 5.1 project to a WinCC 6.0 project

Pham_Vu_Hoang Posts: 24 Rating: (0)	I used Project Migrator to convert a Wincc 5.1 project to a WinCC 6.0 project. At Step 2 of 3, after I chose the Wincc 5.1 project and click on "Next" button. Migrator informed: sybase 7 will be started... After some time, a pop up appreared with this info: An error occured while starting Sybase 7. Please check whether Sybase 7 has been correctly installed. Migration could not be performed. What Sybase 7 is? What I should do to convert the project?

JMJ Posts: 487 Rating: (45)	hoangatsc What Sybase 7 is? What I should do to convert the project? Sybase is the database that was used in version before 6.0. From WinCC 6.0 onwards the database used is MSSQL Server. Sybase automatically get installed when you installed WinCC5.x and lower. But if you are installing 6.0 on new PC, the migration tool requires sybase to convert it to SQLserver database. You will find an option in your 6.0 CD for installing sybase. This will prompt you to put your 5.x cd to finsih the installation.
