We are having same problem. Our interface is same like yours, CM1241. We created a DB and 255 array char data. When we read barcode we get something just in first 3 char  in DB but these are meaningless and they do not match any charater in the barcode. Can you help us?

for first check same communication settings on both devices. In case of reading Barcode reader, you must wait/read cyclically till NDR bit will be ON. In this case NDR-ON, prevent read with your instruction and look to buffer. Buffer can be array of CHARs or BYTEs. This must work without problems. Give info pls.

I tried but not achieved. 

I tried byte and char in DB, got some data but just in the first byte of array and again not meaningful.

I have tried with different barcode, 5 digit,10 digit.

I have changed the code into attached but nothing has changed. I m not very good at programming but i think overflow on the datas. I have tried to read also 19 digit barcode but i could not get data on the same byte and no error or status code. What should be data type for buffer and how can i separate all digit on the barcode.

I think your DB and RECV instruction is ok. I will be make test simply for one RECV. Simply don't initialize that merker on REQ in your code, leave it at FALSE. That 2-nd network I will be prepared simply like this:

XX.NDR                      %M0.0

---|  |--------------------------(R)

That XX is your DB where you've registered RECV parameters. Via Watch table set that %M0.0 to true. Start your scanner for barcode. After that RECV instruction will be stopped with NDR. Look to buffer online. Can you pls post some standard frame of chars/bytes what can be received from scanner and communication settings (speed, parity, ...)?

Update: eeeee sry I forget recommend also one thing, I don't think so you need that big receive buffer, mean 255 bytes long. Simply check what max of bytes can be received, give to it little addition and you'll be fine.
