Problem with CPU 1214 communicating to a PC

Ras Sharif Posts: 69 Rating: (0)	Dear Experts, In my project the CPU 1214 communicates to a PC by RS-485 module. The windows software is LabVIEW ( simple ASCII strings ) and the PLC program is based on Point to Point programming. The system totally is placed in near fast rising EMI source ( surge arrester tests ). The RS-485 at the PLC side is terminated by SIEMENS connector and the SIMATIC NET PROFIBUS cable is used. The cable at the PC side is interfaced through USB to RS-485 convertor which does not need termination. The cable shield is grounded at the PLC side an is placed in metal conduit which itself is grounded at PC side. The problem is hanging the windoes software. It is happened randomly and just after fast rising. I Should to close and re-open the software to run correectly. Does the software ( communicating protocol ) effect on the problem? Is the PROFINET better than RS-232 Serial? I can use of PROFINET by WinCC if it be better solution? Best regards, Ras Sharif
