Problem with message text and status on function block output

JA3H Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	Hi! I had a problem displaying the status of a Latching relay in my program, so I created a small program to try and isolate the problem, but without any luck. I have created a latching relay (B1) which is connected to two pushbuttons (I1 and I2) and one output. (Q1) I have the got a Message text (B2) block where the enable input is inverted to keep it activated at all time. The output is connected to a open connector (X1) The Message text is just displaying the status of I1, I2, Q1, and B1. The problem is that when the text display shows the correct status for all signals but not for B1, it just follows the status of I1. I've tried numerous different ways to work around the problem, but the only I've found is to use a output and display the status of that, so I'm using a output that I don't have (Q5 is the first output on the extension module I don't have) Even If I found a way around, I find it a bit annoying to not know the reason behind this irregularity. Running LSC V7.0.30 and LOGO 12/24RC 6ED1 052-1MD00-0BA6 anyone got any ideas? Please see attachment of screenshot of FBD and Message text config regards, Jon. The R(reset) on the RS laching Block has more prio than the S(set) Thus when Set AND Reset both are 1 the output is 0 Nex time, you make a .zip of your programm, and post it here, so we kan test it. JA3H Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	Hi, Yes, it is correct that I have inverted the I2 input since my stop button is NC. Problem is that when I simulate the program in LSC everything work as it should. cdrshort Bronze Member Joined: 9/6/2008 Last visit: 12/6/2022 Posts: 134 Rating: (16)	you have to change the properties off the input I2 ,from switch ( make contakt ) to push button ( brake contakt as you said is a stop funcktion NC buton). i see this in the program that you uppload . take alook in my sample perhaps it will help you. don forget that in the mesage text is possible to change the displayed function from false to hi and vise versa no matter what hapens in realin/out . best luck Attachment RS DISPLAY.zip (130 Downloads)

The reason is that you can't use function blocks or flags as a parameter for the "Message Text" function ON/OFF.Only Inputs and Outputs are working with this function. It seems to be a bug in new LOGO software (V7.0) If you have some unused Outputs you could use these as parameter for the "ON/OFF" function as a work around. Helmut_13 Posts: 2930 Rating: (432)	Hi, A LOGO! 0BA6 can only controll the status text via digital I/O. To controll a status text from other signals does not work. This is not a bug in LSC V6 or in LOGO! 0BA6 it was not supported in this generation In LSC V7 if you controll the status text by other signals then it works in a LOGO! 0BA7. But the status window says this program can be run in LOGO! 0BA6 and 0BA7. But this is wrong it only works in LOGO! 0BA7. Hope this is more clear now. Regards Helmut
