Need some help and appreciate your opinions.

I want to try a simple program using MC functions. I'm using TIA 15.1 for 1214 CPU.

Here is my question: If I put MC function blocks directly in OB1, everything works well. But as I want to control more than one axis I want to use MC function blocks among another FB e.g FB1, then put FB1 into main user program (OB1). So I put MC function blocks into FB1 as multi instance, and then put FB1 into OB1. When compiling, everything is OK but after downloading to CPU, red ERROR light starts flashing on the CPU and following error occurs:

"Access error (data block type) DB1 in FB1 - Processing will continue (no OB processing)"

DB1 is the technology object I have created as the axis.

 It seems problem is about the way I have defined INPUTs of FB1. In fact I defined Axis_name as input for FB1 and chose DB_ANY as its type. When putting FB1 in OB1 I drag and dropped an axis from the list of Technology Objects to this input field of FB1 block and encountered aforementioned error.

By deleting Axis_name from FB1 inputs list and directly putting an axis from TO list to any MC function blocks in FB1, error eliminated. But I need to have the axis name as an input parameter for FB1 to select it when putting FB1 into OB1.

What I have to do?

Right below the events box there's another box with more detail of the error. See attached.

You passed the wrong object to MC_Power. When you assign TO_PositioningAxis  directly to MC_Power it converts it to a technology object. But when you pass it as a DB_Any you are assigning a PositioningAxis  DB number/name as an actual parameter to a TO_Axis formal parameter. Basically you have a datatype mismatch.

What you can do is declare your tag Axis_Name as TO_AXIS or do as per my next post..stay tuned.
