Problem with OP177b

joshbuen Posts: 8 Rating: (0)	Hi there Sir, ` I've been working on a OP177b PN/DP. The unit is functioning properly except that there is no display that can be seen on the screen. When the function keys are pressed, the Machine responds well so this means that maybe, only the illumination is not working beyond this point or the screen is damaged. Could it be that there are other possible reasons for the malfunctioning of the display? and what is my 1st step to resolve this? Send the panel for reparing in Siemens. 2. Repair by yourself (no guarantee) and you should find the necessaries parts in Internet. Best regards, Hristo Mihalev

One Questions Sir how did it happen in the 1st place? and what are the variables that causes the illumination to burned out? could it be that the power supply output is exceeding beyond 24VDC? or there something to be checked on the grounding of the machine that my cause this? Thank you so much again Sir..

The reason could varying (starting from the environment, installation, power supply) for the lights to burned. According to me, most probably the lights are good just the power supply is burned. The power supply is a small transformer mounted in an electrinic card. Is this a new application (panel)? Did happen before the same?
