Hello all

I recently bought the pc adapter USB A2 (6gk1 571-0ba00-0aa0), after my previous adapter 6es7 972-0cb20-0xa0 failed.

When I connect the new adapter and i open set pg/pc interface, I choose for MPI or Auto and go to diagnostics.  The adapter is OK and I can even read out the live list, which is OK (I find the PLC).

Then I opened Simatic Manager v5.5 SP4, create the HW of the PLC and start downloading it.

I receive this error message "online DLL 32-64 server doesn't work anymore":

I cannot download to PLC, not the HW but also no blocks.

After this error message appears and i open the set PG/PC interface, the diagnostics show error on firmware.  I have to restart the laptop (with Windows 7 SP1)  to even change anything.

I already deleted the driver, tried to install it (which is impossible, because the PC automatically installs it), started Simatic Manager as Administrator, but nothing helps.

Does anybody know what can be the problem?  What can I do to us this adapter?

As an add on to my previous post, 2 comments.

I read that you need USB2.0, and my laptop only has usb 3.0, but I tried on a different laptop with USB 2.0 and USB3.0 and this works fine.

So the only difference I see between the two laptops is the driver version.

On the other laptop it's version v9.57.52.10

My laptop is S7 v5.5 SP4

Other laptop is S7 v5.5 SP3

Both windows 7 sp1.

Can anyone confirm the problem can be in the driver versions?

Or can there be a conflict with another software or driver.

The driver of the older PC adapter is also there on both laptops, so I suppose this can't be the problem.

Just had the same thing happen to me. The diagnostics are good but when I try to go online it gives me that error message and shuts down S7. I have to reboot my computer and change the driver in order to get S7 to launch.

I've used this without issues in the past.

I also bought PC Adapter USB A2 recently. I am using Windows XP SP3.  I need to connect Simatic Manager with the same.

Now the problem arises is that I am not able to install Simatic Device drivers in my PC. Thereby I am able to see PC USB Adapter A2 in the Add/Remove interfaces section in PG/PC interface. But not able to install the same. Installing the setup of the drivers, processes up to a dialog box of "Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 redistributable" which stops at their and completion window appears which shows adapter is successfully installed. On restarting cannot find the drivers of the cable and the condition persists. Attached images for the reference.

The strange thing that is happening is that using the same CD, I am able to install the drivers and work with Simatic manager properly on another PC with same OS. 

On studying the matter, found out that I should run the setup as an administrator. So tried to do the same and even disabled my computer's firewall protection and antivirus as well. But the situation remains as it is.

I am confused that what might be the problem. 

Good Morning, I've just resolved the same problem in Windows 7 64Bits.

The solutions finally is: Run the Tia Portal.exe as Windows Xp Sp3 Compatibility mode.

the Topic starter do not work with TIA Portal he is using Classic Simatic Manager.

An which TIA Portal Version do you use?? its because WinXP is not supported for the newer Versions of TIA Portal ...
