Hello; Please look at the following extract fro the following manual: SIMATIC Diagnostic Repeater for PROFIBUS-DP 3.4 Use in an existing plant Points to be observed when extending an existing plant If you want to add diagnostic repeaters to an existing plant, you must: • Observe the design guidelines for the diagnostic repeater, • Use a programming device/PC with STEP 7 or COM PROFIBUS or an S7 CPU with the integrated system function SFC 103 "DP_TOPOL", in order to be able to carry out topology determination, • Re-configure the DP master used in order to include the diagnostic repeater as a new DP slave and in order to be able to access the diagnostic information of the diagnostic repeater.

Hello Guest let me start by commending you for the very detailed problem description in your attached word doc. Unfortunately, all it tells me is what you know already, i.e. theDiagnostic Repeaters (DR) configuration inthe Prosoft DP master is rejected by the DR. Can you please check the following: 1.) What Firmware do you have in the DR (2.0 is the latest, see HERE for more)? Should it be an older firmware, and should you have configuredclock synchronization for it in the Prosoft DP master, you problem could be explained as below (see HERE for more too): "You can also use this GSD file to configure older FW versions of the diagnostic repeater. However, please don’t activate clock synchronization in this case, because the diagnostic repeater will then negatively acknowledge the parameterization message frame" 2.) In combination withthe above, can you post a screendump of the "Parameter Assignment" tab of your Prosoft's DR config? 3.)Which I/O module is inserted in the DR in your Prosoft's DR config ( in case you used "TSYNC-Diag-Module" try the default "DR-CfgData" instead)? I hope this helps |
