Hello everyone.

I have a network Profibus, where the master is a Prosoft card with part number is PTQ-PDPMV1.

In this network have installed a repeater with diagnostic, but is not working properly.

Please review the attached document.

Anyone has any idea of the because unable to work the Repeater with Prosoft card?

3.4 Use in an existing plant

Points to be observed when extending an existing plant

If you want to add diagnostic repeaters to an existing plant, you must:

• Observe the design guidelines for the diagnostic repeater,

• Use a programming device/PC with STEP 7 or COM PROFIBUS or an S7 CPU with the integrated system function SFC 103 "DP_TOPOL", in order to be able to carry out topology determination,

• Re-configure the DP master used in order to include the diagnostic repeater as a new DP slave and in order to be able to access the diagnostic information of the diagnostic repeater.

I am afraid that in oder for the diagnostic repeater to be able to gathertopology information and diagnostics from the network you would need specialized Siemens functions, described above.
In the following FAQ, you will find this quote:

If non-Siemens masters are used, the topolgy can be determined with the help of COM PROFIBUS. The topology cannot be determined with a non-Siemens configuration tool. However, if the topology has been determined once with the help of COM PROFIBUS, the locality of the fault will also be displayed in the non-Siemens configuration tool.
