Hi All,

I am currently using TIA PORTAL V13 on a S7-1200.

The problem I am having is i cant establish communications between a bar code scanner and a printer through the plc. 

the blocks I am using are ( "RCV_PTP_DB" & "SEND_PTP_DB" )

Both arrays have been assigned to the blocks but being new to portal I am having a lot of trouble.

Any Ideas in how to get comms established between the two?

Yes I have 2 RS232 modules (6ES7 241-1AH30-0XB0) named as  CM 1241 (RS232)_1 & CM 1241 (RS232)_2 

I want to create a program so my barcode reader can scan a part and from that generate a time and date stamp so i can send that information to a printer to be stuck onto the part.

are you finished set-up that communication modules with parameters depended to reader and printer? Your printer is Zebra type? Are you familiar to construct proper output to it? For creating communication look at that help :
