Problem with Set PG/PC

nandgate Posts: 319 Rating: (9)	Hello All, I am facing ta problem with Set PG/PC option . I can't see the interfaces option button in the main window (through this option we can add/remove communication options). Also I can't see Local Connection in PC Adapter MPI/PPI/Profibus and PC Adapter Auto options. I have attached pictures for reference. Kindly suggest. Sorry for my bad English. Regards, Nandgate. Here no Add/remove available because the Interfaces are installed automatically with Plug&Play, so this button is not longer available. The PC Adpater you see is for the USB Adapter, which PC Adapter you use exactly? Regards Christoph

I am using PC Adapter with USB interface (Part No. 6ES7 972-0CB20-0XA0). I am using Simatic Manager V5.5 SP2. When i had older versions of Windows OS, I had option of selecting the interface (COM Port or USB). But i can't see the option in this OS version. Now i am not able to connect with PLC. What has to be done, inorder to solve this problem ? Please suggest. Regards, Nandgate

The driver is for the Adapter you named, i hope you have a original SIEMENS Adapter and no Fake Adapter from ebay. Have ypu pluged the Adapter with the original MPI Cable to the PLC? This adapter need power from the PLC Interface , you can see this on the LED of the Adapter. if no LED is on the the MPI Powersupply is missing. Have you check the correct bussettings for the Adapter in the Properties in PG/PC Settings (baudrate etc.)? Regards Christoph

nandgate Posts: 319 Rating: (9)	Hello, This is a original Adapter. It works fine when my colleague connects it to a PLC. (His laptop has 32 bit Windows 7 ). All the LEDS glow when the adapter is connected (both USB and 9 pins are connected). I have checked the baud rates and addresses. They are all fine. The adapter should detect something when i select PC Adapter Auto. But i get a message that "Bus Parameters could not be detected". After plugging in PC Adapter USB, i can see one unknown device in my device manager. But i can't install drivers for the unknown device. ( I don't have admin rights as user, so i logged in as admin and tried installing drivers. But i couldn't) I feel there is something seriously wrong with my Simatic Manager settings. Regards, Anand.

Is it a PLC? If yes is there already a HWConfig loaded with a PROFIBUS parametrization for the Interface? Regards Christoph

nandgate Posts: 319 Rating: (9)	Hello, The PLC is sending bus profile (It is a working PLC with 4 drives and 3 RIOs as profibus slaves). I have tried PC adapter Auto with my colleagues laptop. It works fine. Regards, nandgate.

The adapter have problems if you use a USB 3.0 Port or a low Power USB Port . Regards Christoph
