Problem with SITOP Modular Power Supply

Mohamed Uvais Posts: 28 Rating: (0)	Hello, I have in my panel SITOP Modular 24VDC Power Supply. When i checked output of power supply +ve with ground got 50VAC then i make power down and checked voltage disappears (0VAC). only i'm getting when SITOP Powered and -ve grounded through IM module. if i remove -ve from ground its ok. help me...

Ifin your case 0 volt is assumed as -ve, then how you get 50V AC? Are checking it keeping multi-meter selection on AC mode instead of DC mode? Please check.Also please check your ground is proper or not. It may have floating potential.

Was it normal commisioning steps or did something happen? What is connected to the IM? Then also.. I know that some factories make link between neutral and earth. What is the voltage between neutral and earth? It is better if voltage drop between neutral and earth is not fixed value. w

Hello, May be, you have some problem in PE (Protective earth). Remove SITOP from rail and isolate itfrom panel. check output voltage again! I think this is induced voltage. Regards, MRG

Hi William B, ---Two factors made me to check 1.Analog value count abnormal from AI Card instead of 27648 reading 27770 2.Frequent blow of fuse ---+24VDC and 0V is the supply for IM fed from SITOP ---All our supply neutral grounded (UPS and Non-UPS) so im getting 0V

I think this is induced voltage. Regards, MRG Hi MRG, Your correct i also thought the same but induced voltage why only appears when SITOP Powered. When Switched off SITOP there is no AC voltage with ground and also When 0V (-ve) removed from ground no AC voltage with ground.

Also , we will be very happy to know if you previous problem regarding reading of analog input is resolved or not. it seems that you come acorss this new problem meanwhile. please revert back.

William_B Posts: 5225 Rating: (1192)	..if you disconnet the instrument (power too) do you still have the problem? Taking away the power also switch off the device (I assume). Then disconect the analog signal only but power the device. Make measurements with your meter, including the analog feedback. My applogies if you have done all these.. but please tell us the result.
