Problem with Stop Output cam.

Rajesh Hebbar Posts: 16 Rating: (0)	Hello, I am finding a problem with the Stop O/P cam function of the S110 while using in a vertical axis. When the Axis is moving UP as it encounters the Plus Stop output cam the drive trips on F7492 and being a motor without brake the Axis drops down. This is potentially dangerous for the machine and the operator. What is desired is that when Plus stop cam is reached the further Axis movement in that direction should not happen and an alarm is set. Motion in the opposit direction should be permitted without Drive going to fault mode. Can some one help me in resolving this.

zako_ Gold Member Joined: 5/22/2012 Last visit: 3/24/2022 Posts: 895 Rating: (67)	The reaction of this error is OFF3. use the funciton module "extended brake control", see capture 7.3: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/59737625 Maybe you can trace the speed, torque and status of the brake, and so on for optimization of the brake logic sequence.

Technology Team Platinum Expert Joined: 10/11/2006 Last visit: 10/9/2024 Posts: 5910 Rating: (808)	Hello, Instead of the Stop cam hardware inputs you should use the softwarelimit position function in the basic positioner. With an axis which has been referenced you can use the softwarelimits to stop the axis at this limits with 1. a warning and no fault 2. with full torque. But besides of this - there are a lot of other faults which can trigger a faulttype OFF3 or OFF2. In all of these case the axis without a brake will drop down. If its necessary that this axis mustn´t drop down you have to install an additional mechanical brake.
