Problem with web pages and certificates

BSALV Posts: 25 Rating: (0)	hello, I'm in the webserver and trying to login as admin to be able to delete logfiles. So I imported the Siemens safety certificate to the internet explorer as described in the manual. Then I login with "admin" without a password (because there isn't one i suppose), but I get a problem that the certificate *"This website’s address does not match the address in the security certificate* " When I look at it, it all seems ok for me, it's for my "9.0.0.10"-address. Where is the certificatesaved on my harddisk, perhaps i still need to check if it's blocked ? Splitted from Sample program: S7-1200 and DATA LOG.

If I recall, the PLC address has changed along the way. I am guessing a certificate was generated with the original address and your browser is remembering that certificate. BSALV Posts: 25 Rating: (0)	dear huggy_d1, The PLC for the certifate is for my last IP-address, 9.0.0.10, I downloaded the certificate several times and in the first screen the certificate wrote each time that IP-address. So I followed your 2nd suggestion and went to the internet-opties, there I deleted the siemens-certificate to be sure that if i reinstalled thecertificate it would be 100% sure the new one. Then i installed for the xth time and tried it again. The result remains the same, it's for another address. If i look at that certificate in the internet-options,that are all digits and codes where i'm not at all familiar with. Perhaps if i put that certificate here, you can analyse it and see what is wrong with it ??? Thanks for your efforts untill now. Bart

0_Einstein Diamond Expert Joined: 7/7/2010 Last visit: 1/23/2025 Posts: 15549 Rating: (2467)	I think when I downloaded my certificate for the s7-1200 web server, I had to ignore something to install it and continue anyway. After that, it still worked without requiring any further attention. I assume the PLC has been power cycled at least once since the ip address change. If not, try that. Possible that ip address / certificate creation only works after a power cycle. :( Beyond that, it's worth a shot to try and create a virtual PC on your computer and see if you can get it to connect without issue.

BSALV Posts: 25 Rating: (0)	i wasn't able to solve the problem with your suggestions : * I stopped the plc by cutting the power and later restarting and a 2nd time by the stop and run button. Then I deleted the certificate in the internet-options and remaked it afterwarts. The problems remains the same, wrong address. * a virutal PC is something that isn't there for an older XP-version I suppose. Are there other suggestions ? greetings Bart

I hear it does not work well with safari or chrome. Maybe firefox. What version of IE? Maybe a different version will communicate and accept the link. Have you set the PLC web server to accept https connections? There is a checkbox in the configuration.

BSALV Posts: 25 Rating: (0)	@ huggy_d1 I tried your suggestions : * in the webserver : permit access only with https * in my internet-browser (IE8) : https://9.0.0.10/ * i get the same message "problem with safety certificate ..." * i ignore the message and i go to that website (not adviced!!!) * in the menubar on top, i get again a warning for a certificate-error * i enter the password + enter * it's working .... it's perhaps not the most logical way, but that doesn't matter ... Thanks for your efforts. Bart
