Both LEDs are green only at the very first part of the boot, even before the boot devices are checked. Do you have a UART cable? Would be very interesting where the IOT get stuck and what is the output. Best regards!

A question: Do you have access to a Dediprog flash programmer? Then we could analyse the problem remotely. Otherwise the device needs to be exchanged via local Siemens repair center. Do you have a local Siemens contact person? Best regards!

Actually I am facing exactly the same problem after updating the firmware to V.2.1 on IOT2050 Advanced from SD card with Example Image V1.1.1. Everything executed smoothly till reboot, and now no output using UART cable. Seems like it got stuck at/or before the boot. I tried couple of things to skip boot from eMMc (i) by pressing USER button (ii) in case SD card brand is not compatible tried booting using from USB with Example Image V1.1.1. (iii) checked if my UART cable is connected properly, the COM port, the Speed, all looks fine. But no success. Please let me know. Best Regards

I updated the firmware to version 1.2.1 and after the reboot command, I can no longer access the device. I have an active display port cable connected and keyboard, but just a black screen. I know the display port cables works as I used it before on the IOT2050. I have tried booting with Example Image 1.1.1 and 1.2.1 with the same results.

I think its FS:02 as it had default boot device as eMMC, which I later changed to SDcard. Previous Firmware version: 2019.01-V01.00.00.2-0-g8e86139 Previous example image in use on SDcard : IOT2050_Example_Image_V1.1.1.img Firmware update files from: IOT2050_Firmware_Update_Files_V1.2.1.zip New Example Image aiming to install: IOT2050_Example_Image_V1.2.2.img Followed "IOT2050_How_To_Firmware_Update_V1.1.pdf" Attached snapshot that was took before starting the update. If Example Image V1.0.2 is on the eMMc, this is a problem after the firmware update. IndOS V2.x should be skipped. Or did you clear the eMMc before the firmware update? Best regards!

AutoGen_5930957 Member Joined: 8/5/2022 Last visit: 9/26/2022 Posts: 5 Rating: (0)	Hi, Not quite sure which Example Image version was installed on eMMc, but as per the step 3.2 "Clean eMMc on IOT2050 Advanced" in IOT2050_How_To_Firmware_Update_V1.1.pdf, I cleared eMMC and it executed successfully as shown in that pdf. To know which Example Image might be installed on eMMc, I checked another prototype IOT2050 device (say Device2) which we got at the same time. Device2's eMMC has Example Image V1.0.2 (snip attached). So very likely the device I tried updating might have same Image version of V1.0.2 on it's eMMc - but it was cleared Thanks Attachment CapturefromAnotherIOTdevice.JPG (529 Downloads)

If not cleared that would explain the behavior, but when the eMMc has been cleared then it should work. Which command did you use to flash the firmware? iot2050-firmware-update IOT2050-PG1-FW-Update-PKG-V01.02.01.tar.xz or maybe (by accident) with -f? iot2050-firmware-update -f IOT2050-PG1-FW-Update-PKG-V01.02.01.tar.xz Best regards!

Something odd happened during the flash progress. I guess in this case the best would be to contact your local Siemens contact person / repair center and ask for an exchange of the device.
