Problems with communications. Equipment damage or fail

Espartaco Posts: 5 Rating: (0)	Hello fiends,i need help, because i need to connect two PLC stations with profibus net, the problem is that both stations is separate 300meters and one station in in interior mine and other station is extern mine, the problem is that in extern station exist very much atmosferic stress (ray, relampague, etc) and this problem damage the equipment in interior mine, this station is a other potential because in interior mine dont exist atmosferic disturbees. We do not connect shield of ground (profibus) in both extremes, because are in different potential, but de fail continue, seem that fail electric is for the wire profibus (wire red and green), is correct to use a Repet Bus Profibus DP for solution this problem?. This equipment separate or isolate electrical signals and isolate galvanic? Sorry foy my bad english Espartaco

Siemens usually proposes Dehn und Sohne equipment to protect their power supplies and networks in the field. Here are some links to their documentation: DEHN Lightning Protection Guide - DEHN Publications(Chapter 9.13 deals with Profibus protection) Surge Protection: Safety for Sewage Plants. - Dehn Other manufacturers offer similar products of course, such as Phoenix Contact DATATRAB D-UFB-PB, or Weidmuller VARITECTOR SPC EX and ACT20X.
