problems with receiving alarm state of inverter

Bryll Posts: 168 Rating: (5)	Hello Guys, Thought I just continue this thread with a follow up question about the inverter communication. I use the "Standard Telegram 20" for the communication. Reading 6 words and writing 2 words. I had to perform a byte-swap of the Status Word to be able to read the values of each bit correctly. But, the following data after the status word in the telegram looks strange swapped or not. I have looked in the manual to make sure the data I try to read is the data in the registers. First time for me with a Siemens drive on profibus, I have done other before but no Siemens. The Inverters are running when I set the start bit, and it actually tells me that it is up and running. But I did not receive that the inverter was in alarm state yesterday afternoon.

Will not change even if a fault appears in the inverter. Bit 7 (alarm) does never come on, had aninverter alarmyesterday. Bit 0 (ready for switching on) works as expected. Bit 1 (ready for operation) works as expected. Bit 2 (operation enabled) works as expected. All the analog feedback values looks strange, tried to perform a byte-swap but strange values remains. Checked the values I get from the inverters to the values I can read in the small panel at each inverter.

Bryll Posts: 168 Rating: (5)	Hello, Checked the history log of the inverter, and it seems that it only was a fault that came up yesterday when I lost the 6 fans. The log told me that it was code 1910, should be a bus fault if I remember correctly. But when there are no faults in the inverter is the fault bit still set. We where in a bit of a hurry yesterday when the fans stopped, things where about to overheat.

In this case no date ist sen between the plc and the inverter and so you can't get any fault bit. Regards Christoph

This can be a reason for the Fault F1910. is there any diagnostic message in the plc diagnostic buffer to the flave with the fault (station gone or so?) Regards Christoph

Regards Christoph Hello, Sorry for not answering earlier, but I got a tight schedule with a lot of people around me. When we had this failure when I lost all (6) the fan controllers, was everything running. I only lost the six inverters for the fans, not the other six controlling motors. This I find a bit strange. I checked all the inverters for faults (small display I move from unit to unit) and the display indicates "No Fault". But the "fault" bit in the status word from the inverters is still set to 1. I had earlier some messages regarding the connection with the inverters in the diagnostic buffer. That's roughly a week agoo now. What puzzles me, is that the fault bit never change status in the SW for any inverter.
