Rated X Posts: 1547 Rating: (129)	Hello, the Process image in general will be no problem. For PROFIBUS the maximum data size for communication to Master will be 240 Bytes. The first limit will be the maximum amount of modulesetc. is more important. You will find this information in technical data of the ET200-M itself. SIMATIC Distributed I/O device ET200M This information is also within GSD file to give the configuration software the possibility to check the configuration limits. Step 7 will check this information during save and compile. I suggest adding your configuration into Step7 HW-Config and save and compile to let the software check the configuration. If you don't have Step7 you can use the ET200 Configurator

Only one thing i would like to clear as lets consider the Process image input size and process image output size is sequentially 10kB in the CPU. I have 32 ET200M modules connected with the S7416-5H V6.0 CPU. Each ET200M has total 80 Bytes for PII and 30 Bytes for PIO it means total 110 bytes at every node. Profibus can read max 244 Bytes data per node(ET200M). Its clear to me that Et200M has Buffer with 15 data record and 20 messages each so when the buffer will be filled the CPU get interrupt->it will read the value->acknowladge->Buffer cleared and filled with new data. The Thing i want to understand is that: 1. If 32 slaves are connected and each has approx 110 Bytes to read, than what is the principle that all the 32 modules data will be read by CPU? 2. If Et200M has data more than 244 Bytes so will it be read in the next cycle? 3.CPU fetch the data from the all ET200M in each base cycle or it can be something else as well? Please manage to clear this query. Thanks
