Process Object count with a user define FB in a PCS7 Project

CBo Gold Member Joined: 4/5/2006 Last visit: 11/28/2024 Posts: 917 Rating: (63)	Hi Nil96 , in addition what Phantom75said, during comparation of PO used from Simatic Manager Statics and WinCC PO/Tag used you'll see the number is not same. Until PCS7 v7 each block generating message on WinCC occupy 1 PO, and every 25 Tags will be one more PO; from PCS7 v7.1 every 50 Tags will be counted one more PO. I asket time ago to Tecnichal support and thats has been the answer, but I didn't found documentation yet about this question, sorry Regards

Nil96 Posts: 325 Rating: (14)	Hi CBo, Nice to hear from u & phantom................. Well, I think from V7.1 the concept of PO count has changed. What Phantom is said is correct. Only blocks with messages are being counted. I even checked this with V7.0 and only blocks with messages are being counted. To confirm this, I just created a FB(FB400) with 200 inputs and 100 outputs. All these 300 pins have the attribute S7_m_c. This FB400 was later drageed in the CFC & compiled. like wise, OS was also compiled. When the OS was opened, I found that all these 300 tags connections have been created, but the PO count didnot change. For the same FB400, Alarm_8P was introduced. This block was later re-imported into the CFC & compiled. When the OS was compiled, I found the PO count was increased by 1. What u said is correct for V6.1 since, Tags+PO count, both were part of license. Just corerct me if anything is wrong. Regards Nil

Often happens you check in simatic Manager for a certain number of used PO, then compile OS, to dicovers the WinCC PO changed (always greater ). WinCC count PO in different way: WinCC count all tags / 50 = 1 PO, as well as explained in catalog (in attachment for v7.0), then get the greater value between PO coming from Simatic Manager and WinCC counting.
