Product reference difference

Maxyx Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	Hello, I'm working on a Siemens demonstration model of a golfball sorter. I'm using an ETS 200S IM 151-3 PN ST(6ES7151-3AA23-0AB0) as a Profinet interface. I have three 4 DO DV24V/0.5A (6ES7132-4BD00-0AA0) module and three 4DI DC24V (6ES7131-4BD00-0AA0) connected to the ETS 200. During the configuration of the device on TIA Portal V12, I didn't find the exact product reference. For example I used the product6ES7132-4BD02-0AA0 instead of the 6ES7132-4BD00-0AA0 for the 4 DO DV24V/0.5A. I had to use a different product for every device I have. The product reference usually differes of only one letter or one number. I don't have any fault message or error communication. I think that the difference is due to the fact that I use Profinet and that the device were for Profibus. I would like to know if it's a real problem or if it doesn't mater? Is my supposition right? Is it possible to find the good reference for Profinet? Thank you to take the time to read me. Maxime

jklm Platinum Member Joined: 12/22/2006 Last visit: 1/25/2022 Posts: 1742 Rating: (309)	Hello, There is a FAQ with a list of modules supported by TIA: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/50029532 If your modules are older than the configured modules, you risk to have "mismatch" errors. Because newer modules could have new features not supported by the older once. You will have an SF LED lit on the IM, and on the mismatching module. If your modules are better than the confifured modules, I do not expect that type of errors.

Maxyx Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	Thank you for your fast answer. So if I don't have any SF Led, I won't have any problem? Actually I have tested my program and everything works well. But I wanted to be sure that it wasn't a problem that the Leds wouldn't show, because it's important for my studies.

There might be new features on newer modules, as well as older features might have been discarded. Why take the risk,when the GSD files you need are for sure available on internet, especially on siemens product page? regards
