Proface comm. via MPI port

azad_dsc Posts: 80 Rating: (1)	Dear All, I try to setup a system using S7 CPU 315-2DP and a Pro-face (GP2501S) screen comm. to CPU via MPI port directly (without adaptor). Then a Ethernet module CP343 attached to the CPU for me to online with CPU via S7. Every time i plug in Pro-face comm. cable to MPI port, the Ethernet connection is interrupted. But Proface comm. is working. I try to change MPI address of CP343 and GP2501S node address, result is still same. I also reduce connection resources for S7 standard comm. at CPU properties 'Communication' tab (Hardware Configuration), and increase OP and PG comm. also still not succesful. Late Platinum Expert Joined: 1/7/2006 Last visit: 11/17/2023 Posts: 2705 Rating: (314)	Hi, If the proface is communicating on the MPI port, then is the question, have Proface a tested version, which is made together with Siemens or do they have made a own MPI driver for the panel ? If the MPI-driver is not tested, then please don't use it The MPI-port fore a S7-300 (<317) is internally to the CP343 and if the MPI-port don't recognise the right protocol (and doing it by it self like a Profibus Slave) then it won't work. Maybe you could try it on a Profibus DP network, there the protocol is easier to implement....

Rodrigo_Fluipress Posts: 1 Rating: (2)	Hello, I had the same problem with CPU314. And we solve the problem using the adapter CA4-ADPONL-01. We used a own cable and we made this adapter too. We had to use the Clock synchronization in HMI and in the PLC. Making this, you'll have no problem with communication anymore. In the attached files you'll find some examples to solve your problem.
