Profi net error / SP1 and update pack 2 problem

(By the way my device is a Cognex camera system) New I/O access error during process image update /n input? (? Bytes) will temporarily not be updated as part of the updating of process image 0 I thought I'd found the solution to my problems at /tf/WW/en/Posts/63081 I have installed Service pack 1 and just tried to install update 2 because it say's update1 is included in update 2 but it won't install because TIA is a newer version. I could try and download Update 1 but i suspect it also won't install for the same reason. I don't know what to do next? Many thanks in advance. ***EDIT*** Hmmm ok i'm a muppet, there is updates for non SP1 and SP1, as i installed SP1 first the non SP1 update does not apply. Hopefully my answer is in reach.

0_Einstein Diamond Expert Joined: 7/7/2010 Last visit: 1/24/2025 Posts: 15558 Rating: (2468)	Do a repair on your SP1 installation. Then try installing Update 1. If it works, install Update 2. If it doesn't work, it may be alanguage problem. I've heard of project language problems on the forums and setting the language to English (or German?) allows the updates to work. Then afterwards, set the language(s) to fit your needs.

I hadthem integrated with a (Siemens) competitor's product and the Cognex web site had instructions for making those connections less painful. Is the Cognex configured to pretend to be S7-1200 remote IO? At this point, it's going to be a combo of contacting Cognex and Siemens Tech Support to get the answers as this is extremely specific and possible or evenlikely you are the first to attempt it :) I remember the difficulty in getting the TCP connection and data structure properly configured to send/receive data. Maybe you can just use TCP connection to send/receive data instead of making it behave like remote IO if the Cognex/Siemens Tech Support can't help resolve the problem. Post your results!

Yes I believe you may be right that I am the first totry and connect these two, the only documentation I found from Cognexwas attaching this device to a S7 300 system. May be I should i have stuck with RS232

0_Einstein Diamond Expert Joined: 7/7/2010 Last visit: 1/24/2025 Posts: 15558 Rating: (2468)	I did not think the S7-1200 using TIA Portal V11 did distributed IO via profinet yet, but maybe there is a way to make it work. Time to check with Siemens Tech Support. You can get it working with TCP control. It will take some effort, but the structures are published on Cognex's web site. Combine that with the TCP Send instructions and TCP Receive instructions and you should be able to establish comms.

ChrisMC Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	Im having the same exact issue. I'm using the Cognex 5604 line scan camera and I have updated to SP2 Update 2. Any news on this? I contacted Cognex and they don't have an Idea yet. The will look into it. I guess this may be a S7-1200 specific problem?? Chris
