Is there a way/software to scan a profibus network to find out which address each slave is using?

I have an existing network and need to change a few of the slave.

Since you have the original PLC program, if you sort the PLC tags to get the inputs / outputs sorted, you can quickly capture telegram data, and then associate it with a slave device.

Go online with the devices using TIA Portal to see what you can see via online access via a profibus adapter on your TIA portal laptop.

At least you can see all the device addresses, the PB configuration, and possibly more.

Thanks guys, I mistakenly wrote address but I need to find out is the memory mapping.

I need to know which memory area each slaves is using to receive data from the PLC.

The whole thing is about changing slaves in a network and I don't have the existing master configuration nor program comment.

I see I have two choices:

1- Dissect the program and identify each output and which slave it belongs to and setup the master configuration from scratch for all slaves. That will take weeks.

2-Use some fancy expensive software if it exists that can show me what memory area each slave is using.

Am I correct or completely on the wrong track?

If you want to know a very simple solution to this problem, you power off one of the Beckhoff couplers.  Look for I/O access errors (or whatever Beckhoff calls them).

Note them and search the sorted I/O for those error-producing addresses and see what they are.

Power the coupler back on and repeat for the 2nd coupler.

This obviously needs to be done on-site, which is good if you are located right there.

Thanks Huggy, I'm replacing two out of six. I know the slave addresses as I can see the setting on the hardware.

 More clarification it's Omron CPU with Beckhoff "Profibus Couplers" and the idea is to change two of those to Siemes ones. Something like this :

This solution is only "brilliant" because you said 2, not 200.

The software or hardware analyzer is what you use for 200!
