Profibus Busfault monitoring

Gotlieb Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	Hi I have a system with a Siemens S7 CPU 315-2 DP connected to IM151-1 Standard remote IO with Profibus. How can i monitor the Profibus within the PLC to check when the bus is in error or goes down? I want to alarm bus error and possibly stop the system in case of Profibus failure. Regards Hein

Hulzhex Gold Member Joined: 8/25/2005 Last visit: 1/29/2025 Posts: 1162 Rating: (111)	Hello Gotlieb, when the profibus is down, you will get an alarm within your CPU and OB 86 will be started. Within this OB you got the posibility to check which station causes the alarm. In you case it will be the remote I/O. -> this alarm will indicate you busfault. If the OB dosn't exist within your program, the CPU will STOP automaticaly. Good luck Sabine
