Profibus Communication in Soft Starter 3RW44

khads Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	Hi! I am having a problem of getting the Measured Values of the soft starter i am using. if the starter is not in used, i can get data such as voltages. However when it is already used i cannot get any data anymore and Profibus protocol layer 2 errors and other error codes occur. It also stated in the diagnostic that communication is not possible because the address area is already in used.

Calm_down Posts: 324 Rating: (30)	Hi, I have no idea how you try to get online to the Starter device, but I can tell you if a DP Master has already configured the Slave for itself it is not possible to access this Slave by another DP Master Class 1 (cyclic DP Master) anymore. If you want to access it you would need a DP Master Class 2 (Diagnostics Master). I don't know if you can configure this on your Software. Stay calm

khads Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	I am using a CPU 313C-2dp PLC. The softstater is set as a slave. Im am connecting to the softstarter via DP. I need these data to be shown on my WINCC. What info still do you need to help me?

Calm_down Posts: 324 Rating: (30)	Hello khads, I have just one question. How did you configure the Soft Starter in Win CC, did you configure it as a DP Slave and WinCC as DP Master? Than you have the Situation I mentioned, because now you have two DP Masters accessing one DP Slave, this will not work. Is it maybe possible to collect the Data you need from the DP Master, the CPU 312 and load it to the WinCC System via a S7 Connection? Stay calm.

khads Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	Cpu313C is my master dp. I can read data to the softstarter only when it is not in used in the process. whenenever it is used no data is read anymore. All other profibus devices connected are working except on the softstarter.

khads Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	The WinCC is conected to the PLC via CP343-1. We only use the internal LAN card of the PC so it can link to the PLC via CP343-1. I have attach the project I have made.. please feel free to view it Attachment Lukban_2.zip (129 Downloads)

I still don't know how you are connected to the Starter device. As far as I saw you are using the Ethernet interface of the PG/PC you are using, is this right? If so you have no direct connection over Profibus to the Starter device, don't you. But you said that it works if the DP Master is not connected, is that still right? I hope you see my confusion.
