Hello Anil Belkery before I get to your specific question let me outline the one important difference between a S7 300 and S7 400 CPU as far as usage of their onboard Profibus port for S7 communication is concerned: S7 300: It can only be a Server(it can "serve" S7 communication based requests made by other S7 "Clients", but can itself NOT request data via S7 communications) S7 400: It can be a Server and a Client As for your questions:
Yes it is, you configure a so called "unilaterally configured"S7 connection in the S7-400anduse SFB14/15 GET/PUT request in the S7 400(the Client) and the S7 300 will simply "serve" these requests.
Yes it is, and answer is as above PLUS you can also do the same in the S7 300 now (the CP342-5 can be aClient tooand you can also use BSEND/BRCV or USEND/URCV as you now have "bilaterally configured" connection between the two). Additionally, you can now also configure and use an FDL connection.
Yes it is, same answer as for 1 above.
Yes it can, see above (the communication is based on S7 communications) Iommitted some other possiblecomms forms in the above answer (e.g. S7 basic communications, FMS,Global data in case you configure them as MPI ports etc.) as it would fill too many pages here and as they would not neccesarily be my first choice. Siemens does however have a couple of "oldies but goldies" documents which will hopefully help you in makingmost suitable choice for your application and the links to these arebelow (as well as a couple of other hopefully useful links). Communication with SIMATIC S7 Selection Criteria for Networks and Services Where can you find sample S7 programs and documentation for communication via PROFIBUS in the SIMATIC NET Quick Start Collection? What differences are there when configuring S7 connections? I hope this helps to get you started |
