Hello bhagwan12345, if you haveone PLC and three other devices will need four Profibus connectors not two, however, the first and the last node you will need to place the switch in the ON position, if I understand correctly, otherwise give us yourdiagram of how you want to connect them.

Hello bhagwan12345, profibus is a daisy chain. It means you normally have a profibus-in and a profibus-out connector on your devices. There are devices out there, which have only one profibus-connector. In this case the daisy chain has to be done within the profibus cable connector (different type of cable connector). So when you have a CPU and three devices, you will need one cable connector for your CPU with termination resistors (switch ON). From there you go to your first device. If your device has Profibus-in and profibus-out connector, you will need two profibus cable connectors without termination resistors there (you can also use with termination resistors, but then switch them OFF). If your device has single profibus connector, you will need a cable connector for in-cable and out-cable. If this connector has termination resistors, switch OFF. Same applies for next device. For your last device, you will need profibus connector with termination resistors switched ON, or if there is PB-in and and PB-out, you need one without termination resistors (or resistors switched OFF) on PB-in and on PB-out one with termination resistors switched ON. So only at CPU and PB-out of last device termination switches will be ON. regards

Just to add a standard document to support what we are stating, you should download the Profibus Installation Guidelines from Profibus International (it is the 6th link in the table): http://www.profibus.com/download/installation-guide/ From that link there are a few documewnts you can look at, start with the PROFIBUS Installation Guideline for Planning, from which I have extracted the attached illustration. It shows that the standard topology for Profibus copper cables is linear, or what we call daisy-chained. You seem to want to use a star connection, and this is not supported.
