Profibus communications with an IM151-1 problems

Frank Spieldenner Posts: 18 Rating: (0)	Good Morning, I've added a ET-200S IM151-1 Standard remote rack to an existing profibus network. Everything is configured correctly, all cabling, hardware, etc has been checked and rechecked. After downloading error free hardware configuration to the CPU via ethernet routing, the newly added module, address 57, never is recognized. I've also problems with changing modules in the ET-200S IM-151, order#: 6ES7-151-1AA0*-0AB0. These were OEM added modules and will NOT accept any changes to their hardware configuration. I've tried using different .GSD files, etc. to no avail. I've attached the hardware export to this message. I'd appreciate any input to my problem. Thanks Attachment a2_entangler.zip (918 Downloads)

Late Platinum Expert Joined: 1/7/2006 Last visit: 11/17/2023 Posts: 2705 Rating: (318)	Dear Frank, Why you are using GSD-files, I see you are working with STEP7 V5.4 so you must have these in the PROFIBUS DP under ET200S.... When you use that one, have you also give up all the right modules, esspecially on the end: "-0AA0 and "-0AB0" for standard and High Feature modules. And do you have placed the small about 6mm module that is coming with the IM 151 to the right of the station....

I am using the hardware definitions that come with 5.4, I've also made sure I've gone on-line and verified that my ET200 files are current.I've even gone to the extent of installing some of the older onessuch as the, 1AA0*-, types. As to the module to the right of the IM151, I do have a PE module installed, if that is what you mean. I've two distinctly seperate problems. The first being, the CPU will NOT see any newly inserted and addressed IM151 module. The second is that I cannot add or change ANY of the existing IM151, (with the order number of 1AA0), modules. I get an error message when doing so. These are the original, installed modules, very early hardware and firmware revision levels. PS; We've recently upgraded to 5.4. We were at 5.3 SP3 and experiencing the same difficulties.

Aret Posts: 2348 Rating: (264)	Can you try to create new project with minimum of modules. Insert there IM151 - from ET200S folder AND from DPV0Slaves/ET200S folder (2different ETs). These things are quite different! Also check your ET 200S address (it's set by means of switches as fas as i remember), please mention there is special switch (HW addres/SW address). When you are through with ET200S download HW in PLC. Don't turn it on to RUN. Then turn power supply of ET200S off/on. Then RUN PLC. When i prepormed these actions my ET200S started :^)

You may also try to throw away the SDBs and reorganize by save asthe project with (slow)reorganisation, after that compile the hardware new and try again. When that is not helping you have to make a completely new project, you may export the hardware configuration to a *.cfg file and read that one in in anew project. With the small module of about 6 mm i mean the end-resistor on the right of the station...
