Profibus connection between the S7 315 2DP and 6 PLC S7 300.

I want to control six machines with WinCC flexible so I'll connect 6 PLC S7 300 with a new PLC S7 315 2DP to provide this supervision. If I make a Profibus connection between the S7 315 2DP and the 6 PLC it is necessary to introduce changes in the program of the 6 PLC S300? What is the best solution. Thank you in advance Je veux controler 6 machines avec wincc flexible donc je vais connecter 6 automates programmables S7 300 avec une nouvelle automates S7 315 2DP pour assurer cette supervision. Si je fait une connection profibus entres l'automate S7 315 2DP est les 6 automates est il nécessaire d'introduire des modification dans les programmes des 6 automates S300? Quel est la meilleure solution. Merci d'avance

Hello, Make the 6 CPU programs in one project of Simatic Manager. And also make the WinCC flexible program integrated. It will be easier. You will need to define a unique Profibus address to each CPU. In WinCC flexible software, Open Communication, And define 6 connections. Each one has the profibus address which you have defined for each CPU. Then you can work with that CPU tags. Hope this helps.

But you need so to aspirate the programs that already exists in the old 6 PLC "S7 300" to make modification. The problem is that every machine already contains 4 PLC, but I only need the principal PLC in each machine. Also each machine contains a SIMATIC Panel MP 277 10 "or a panel LAUER. My supervisor prefers that I do not change the programs existing in the PLC. Also I need a PLC to make calculations using the variables of other PLCs. What I should do pleas.

dchartier Grandmaster-Expert Joined: 9/27/2006 Last visit: 3/20/2025 Posts: 12344 Rating: (2707)	Hello Aymen; Your PLCs are already Profibus-DP masters in their own projects; since the integrated DP port of the PLCs can act as a master ora slave, but not both at the same time, you would have to either: -insert a CP 342-5 and configure it as a DP slave so the PLC can be connected to the new master PLC; -use a DP/DP coupler as a double-slavebetween the b=new master and each existing PLC (you would need one per connection. In any case, there would have to be configuration and programming changes to be done in each PLC participating in these exchanges. But problem: Itried,I made configuration, but Ican't use integrated interface.May be someone explain it.Iused Profibus CP. I attached my simple program. 1. I created S7-300 station. 2. In NetPro, select CPU. There is table of connectionin the bottom. You can look at my sample connection.You can open connection properties.There is defined Profibus address of acomunication partner and inaddress details rack and slot. 3. I added SFB14 to OB1. The PC that I will use has a communication processor CP 5611 A2 PCI CARD. I have to use a new PLC in which I will programmed another function to calculate the uptime and downtime. Do I connect the new controller with all PLCs using the MPI network and connect the PC runtime with the new PLC using a PROFIBUS network? If I do this it is necessary to change all the PROFIBUS addresses of all PLCs that exists in each machine? I think one big question is if you should go with Profibus or with MPI to connect your 6 Machines (not talking on IE to keep with what you have). Using MPI for connecting yours 6 Station would bea cost effective solution, since no additional hardware is needed… Do I connect the new controller with all PLCs using the MPI network and connect the PC runtime with the new PLC using a PROFIBUS network? The new PLC could be connected to the PC either way in my opinion, since the CP5611 have also MPI option. If I do this it is necessary to change all the PROFIBUS addresses of all PLCs that exists in each machine? No, it is not. Even if you decide to connect using Profibus with DP/DP coupler (6 of them), all the Profibus addresses can remain as they are, since your subnets still independent. Is it necessary to group all the project in one project, even it I will use the MPI network between PLCs? No, using S7 Basic communication you do not have to group all your stations, only make sure when integrating your 6 Machines in the MPI network, no MPI address should repeat.
