Profibus connection with ET200S "IO device failure"

Hi all,

I have a problem with a PROFIBUS-connection between 2 devices. I have already looked in serval topics here, but there is no solution for my problem.

The devices/program that I use for making the PROFIBUS-connection is:

• S7 1214C DC/DC/DC (6ES7 214-1AG40-0XB0 + CM 1243-5 DP-master)
• ET 200S (IM151-1 BASIC)
• Tia portal V16

When I download the project to the PLC S7 1200 , the leds "error" and "DIAG" blinking on the CM1243-5. Also the led "BF" is on, on the ET200S. I looked in the "Standaard diagnostics" where is see an error "IO devices failure" (not reachable).

I have already checked the wiring, the PROFIBUS-connectors, min. 1m profibus cable, addresse's of the PLC's, DIP swithes on the ET200S,... But i don't find the problem!

I have uploaded a photo to propose the connection.

sry, not enough infos. Attach zip of screenshots):

1. cable cfg, draw how you set wires to both sides of connectors.

2. inside of ET200S HW cfg, especialyy DP address and also real picture of DIP switches on IM to compare due TIA cfg. Exact order number of ET200S IM and screenshot of real to compare.

2. save diagnostic buffer from S7-1200 for sure as txt file and add to inside of zip file.

Because your device isn't reachable, cable or wrong cfg is set.

looks like cfg is wrong or not correctly downloaded, you have SF modules indication on ET200S. Somehow your cfg looks to me ok but in IM151 dip switches you need have first dip switch in OFF position in my opinion, from documentation it needs to be in OFF position. I recommend click on left pane to your PLC and click Compile->HW (rebuild all) and for sure SW rebuild. Then Download complete cfg to CPU. One screenshot is missing, I don't see addresse what occupy your I/O modules attached to IM. Looks like they are due messages on diag buffer outside of PI. Any message inside download process? On CM you need have both LEds green.

Hi all,

I switch the dip switch to "OFF" --> The "BF fault" en "errors" on the CM1243-5 are gone now!. All leds are now green, just the leds "SF" of the power module and output module goes red on the ET200S.

After compile the "harware (rebuild all") en "software (rebuild all)" on the ET200S + powering the power module, the SF faults on modules are gone!
